Character Survey (Of DOOM)
Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is she heavyset, thin, short, rangy?

She's tall, her ears making her a lot taller. Thin, but presumably toned... then again, in a video game, a character doesn't need to be muscly to be powerful. It's hard to tell under the fur.
2. How old is she?
Well... the game called FRAGMENT is developed in May 2007, which is presumably where the entity Macha first came into creation. However, she was a phase at first, mere data floating throughout. December 24th, The World was developed from FRAGMENT, and Macha's data moved there. At some point in 2008, Morganna awakens and realizes her fate, taking Macha's data out of the endless stream and creating a physical form for her. Some of her personality traits (curiosity, slight coldness towards strangers, love for Aromatic Grass) originate from this incarnation, so perhaps this is when she was "born"? Some time in 2010, she is reformed into what we know as Mia, and a year is spent over the events of IMOQ. So presumably, "Mia" is about a year old. Macha is about four years old.
3. Describe her posture. Does she carry herself well or does she slouch?
Normally she's got a very good posture, no slouching at all. But when she's corrupted, severely depressed, or falling apart? She can barely hold herself up.
4. How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
Her physical state is tied rather closely with her mental state, since she is made of data. When her data is corrupted or the core of her data, The Temptress, starts emerging, she acts incredibly sickly and weak.
5. How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
Normally, she's quite perky and doesn't quite sit still. She likes to move around, poking her nose into things and getting involved in people's business more directly.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive herself in the mirror?
Obviously she is not attractive by human standards, but she has a pretty cute cat face. Mia doesn't think too intently on her own appearance, as it's not something that's ever really mattered for her.
7. Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
Purple and fuzzy! She has no scars, since there are no scars in video games.
8. Describe her hair: color, texture, style.
Short-hair cat hair, purple with white marks running from her face to her belly. The tips of her ears and her tail all have darker shades of purple, and her upper eyelid has a shade of mauve somewhat like eyeliner.
9. What color are her eyes?
Golden-yellow, and they are reflective in the dark like any cat's eyes.
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
She's a six foot tall purple cat, that's about as distinct as you can possibly be...
11. What are her chief tension centers?
She holds almost no tension in her body whatsoever, but if she did, it would likely be in her neck and shoulders.
12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit?
It's pictured above. It's video game armor, which means it makes very little sense and it's not exactly well-designed. It never occurs to her to change her appearance.
13. Do her clothes fit well? Does she seem comfortable in them?
The armor is very shapely for her, and seems to fit and keep her limbs very well padded at least.
14. Does she dress the same on the job as she does in her free time? If not, what are the differences?
She doesn't change costume at all in The World. Whether or not this will change in any game I RP her in...
15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
Fur! ...It's embarrassing let's just gloss over that part of her design.
Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
2. How does she normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does she talk easily, or does she hesitate?
She's got a very sly and somewhat naughty tone, and she speaks at a slightly quick pace but with a deliberate tone. She's quite good at sounding sympathetic and remorseful, especially for the sake of further trolling someone, and she's very cute and perky when in a good mood.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
None in particular, she has a very standard "American" dubbed voice and her Japanese voice has no particularly present verbal tics either. It's more the way she speaks than how she sounds.
4. What language/s does she speak, and with how much fluency?
She speaks Japanese! She has a dub voice, obviously, which is what I primarily reference for her tone and speech habits, but she is first and foremost Japanese.
5. Does she switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
Only in dubbing.
6. Is she a good impromptu speaker, or does she have to think about her words?
She's very good at turning a conversation on its head, and she's rarely caught off guard. She might take a short breath to recover from a conversation going poorly, but otherwise she's quite good at keeping on top of a conversation.
7. Is she eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
She is quite eloquent with her words, regardless of her state. There are very few times that she's reduced to a more simplified vocabulary, and that is primarily when she is falling apart. Otherwise, she is quite picky with word choice, and likes to speak in a way that incites curiosity from others and gets them following her words.
Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is she book-smart or street-smart?
She's rather intelligent, but she has little to no actual world experience. She's presumably only a year or so old, as "Mia", so it's no wonder - she has a lot to learn about how people work and how the world outside of The World works.
2. Does she think on her feet, or does she need time to deliberate?
She's very good at thinking on her feet, but more than anything she tends to have things thought out beforehand. She gets herself ready for just about anything, and so she is rarely caught off guard.
3. Describe the character's thought process. Is she more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
She doesn't follow logic, per say, so much as she follows her own experiences and her own strange knowledge of how The World and technology works. She has very abstract ways of thinking about many things, often taking a very metaphorical perspective on things. In the end, her primary focus is what she thinks is interesting, no matter how mundane or abstract it is.
4. What kind of education has the character had?
Absolutely none. It's not known where her knowledge on anything comes from, but as she is an AI, it could be knowledge simply built into her.
5. What are her areas of expertise? What, if anything, is she interested in learning more about?
Being part of The World, she is quite skilled and knowledgable in how to manipulate it. She's aware of what Data Drain is, she knows how to Gate Hack, and she is able to access anything anywhere whenever she likes. She is curious about most anything, however, and those who are victim to her curiosity often find themselves led along or dragged around for her whims.
6. Is she an introvert or an extrovert?
She's more introverted, though she is not necessarily withdrawn. She's very nosy and pushy with people, but when she's done with her whimsy she disappears and rests alone.
7. Describe the character's temperament. Is she even-tempered or does she have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
She's very controlled in her temper, never losing it or getting angry. She generally does not have mood swings, aside from the point where Macha is emerging. When Mia is slowly falling apart to reveal Macha, she is lethargic and sounds very depressed, despite her chipper dialogue not changing. She sounds perpetually optimistic, even when she sounds absolutely miserable. However, she does get aggressive and violent in this state, and she shouted at Kite as he was about to touch her. When she's stable, however, that optimism and raw child-like curiosity has her driven to explore, whether it's people or The World that she's exploring.
8. How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
It depends. For a standard person, she tends to react with anything from mild interest to complete disinterest. For someone who has a hint of something familiar, there is a bit of a different reaction. Those who remind her of something poor (the other eight phases) will be responded to in a very frightening manner - she'll 'slip', a bit, acting as aggressive as she did to Kite touching her, and she'll hiss and yell at them briefly. That is, before completely forgetting about it, and raising her brow when the focus of her aggression acts confused. For those who remind her of good things that she can no longer remember (Tsukasa and those like him), she will often treat them very well, pursuing them to a degree and bothering them.
9. Is she more likely to act, or to react?
More likely to act! She is the one that stokes the fire and watches as it sparks and spits in response.
10. Which is her default: fight or flight?
Flight. She hates pain, even if death and the like mean very little to her. She won't run from confrontation, most of the time because she incites it and is already prepared to handle it. But her first instinct is rarely if ever to fight.
11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does she appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
She is a ruthless troll. Absolutely relentless. If she finds someone who gives her very funny reactions to being harassed, and who keeps falling for her pranks over and over again, she will target them and find new, creatie ways to mess with them. In The World, Piros was her primary victim. (1, 2)
12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does she deal with them?
She doesn't have any mental disorders, since she is an AI.
13. What moments in this character's life have defined her as a person?
It was the data drain of Macha in SIGN that made Mia's existence possible. All of the experiences Macha had still have deep-seeded impacts on everything Mia does. She holds a love for Aromatic Grass, experiences nostalgia when around Wavemasters resembling Tsukasa (but especially ones that keep to themselves like Elk), and shows some minor interest towards those who act like Tsukasa.
14. What does she fear?
She fears, more than anything, losing herself. Death means nothing to her, since she comes back like any other player. She has a repulsion towards pain, but she never suffers the consequences since HP is easily restored. What she's afraid of is becoming something that isn't "Mia", and in the games, her fears are realized when she turns into the Temptress Macha. She loses who she is until she is data drained and defeated by Kite, though this kills her. It's not until True End in QUARANTINE that she's revived, though missing huge chunks of memories that are only slowly returning to her.
15. What are her hopes or aspirations?
She has no major goals or dreams, and she lives her life day by day as the dream itself. She's happy as she is, and all she wants is to enjoy herself (sometimes at the expense of others).
16. What is something she doesn't want anyone to find out about her?
She doesn't want to be known as one of the phases. She doesn't want to acknowledge that as a part of herself, and so she doesn't want to be seen by others as such.
Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with her parents.
The closest Mia has to "parents"? Harald Hörwick, or Morganna. Neither of which she can remember, the latter she had a very poor relationship.
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
No siblings, unless you count the other 7 phases. She has no relationship with them aside from the Temptress surging forward when they are too close, making her violent. She only vaguely recognizes them, mostly recognizing by scent.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom she is close? Are there ones she can't stand?
No other blood relatives.
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of her family? What are her relationships with them?
She has no one else she would consider "family", since the concept of family is beyond her.
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
Elk is her best friend and perhaps is even closer than that. She presumably met him while he was playing The World for the first time, and he was eager to make friends. Mia felt a pang of nostalgia, being reminded of Tsukasa (but not knowing what exactly she was being reminded of) and started to play with him. Elk had some extra items, giving them to her regardless of how worthless they were, and eventually gave her Aromatic Grass. Naturally, she was very touched by the gift, and held it dear to her. Since then, Elk is the one that Mia spends time with without teasing.
6. Does she have other close friends?
She considers Kite a friend of hers, and though her memories of him from before are a bit fuzzy, she knows that her fate lies in his hands as the Bearer of the Bracelet. There's a degree of trust she has in him, from a sense of fate.
7. Does she make friends easily, or does she have trouble getting along with people?
She doesn't get along very well initially save for with very specific types of people and how well they receive her pushiness. She's not exactly great at being empathetic towards others.
8. Which does she consider more important: family or friends?
Friends, since "family" has no meaning to her and she has no concept of what family is supposed to be.
9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has she been married more than once?
She's single.
10. Is she currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?
She's not in a stated relationship, because she doesn't quite fully understand what romance is.
11. Who was her first crush? Who is her latest?
Though she does not explicitly remember, her first affections were for Tsukasa when she was Macha. Her latest is Elk.
12. What does she look for in a romantic partner?
She doesn't look for romantic partners!
13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does she relate to them? If no, does she want any?
No. The idea of children is also very foreign to her, but she would probably be a terrible parent since she tends to be very self-centered.
14. Does she have any rivals or enemies?
None remaining. The closest is her consistently victimized Piros.
15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does she fall on the Kinsey scale?
I wouldn't say that she has any sexual attraction towards anything, considering Artificial Intelligence doesn't reproduce sexually if at all. Romantic inclinations, sure, but sexual need not apply due to a lack of any sex organs.
16. How does she feel about sex? How important is it to her?
See the above answer.
17. What are her turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
See above the above answer.
Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does she fit type?
The selected birth date I chose for her was December 24th, 2007 - the release of The World. This makes her a Capricorn - which she isn't much like at all - and a Pig - which she also is not much like.
2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in her life?
There is no aspect of religion in Mia's life or existence. The closest one gets is the existence of Aura as the "goddess", and even then Mia only perceives her as a rumored AI floating throughout the system. There's a chance, in her mind, that she really is The World become sentient, but there's no religious reverence directed towards her.
3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
Not necessarily. She doesn't act maliciously, but it's not out of a sense of morality. It's more that her experience in messing with players has taught her that greeting others with violence begets a violent reaction from them in turn, and since she does not like to be attacked or to feel pain, she prefers more simple means of harassing them.
4. How does she regard beliefs that differ from hers? Is she tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
Either curious or indifferent, though most of the time it leans towards indifferent. She doesn't usually care about how someone else perceives their world, because it doesn't apply to her.
5. What prejudices does she hold? Are they irrational or does she have a good reason for them?
She's shown no signs of holding prejudice against anyone or anything, presumably because she has had no negative association with most anything.
Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is she rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?
She has plenty of access to items she can sell, and since she's known to be able to hack and corrupt data for fun, there's a chance she'll be able to max her money stat if she really wanted to. Considering she never has to use money to provide for herself, it's never once been a concern.
2. What is her social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected her?
She has always been pursued as a hacker and rule-breaker, due to her bizarre appearance. In The World R:1, there were no Beastmen character models, so she was perceived as severely hacked. CC Corp often tried to shut her down or modify her code, but she was untouchable by them until the very end of The World. This strange social status has made people extremely suspicious of her, which is not helped by her behavior, and the reputation never truly changes outside of her small circle of friends.
3. Where does she live? House, apartment, trailer? Is her home her castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does she share it with others?
She presumably has areas that she can hide in, just as she did in .hack//SIGN, where no one but her can access. She's clearly able to get through many barriers put up in terms of accessing areas in The World, and knows all the tricks in the book. The entirety of The World is her home, and she knows it better than anyone else.
4. Besides the basic necessities, what does she spend her money on?
Not much of anything. If anything, she would trade or buy Aromatic Grass off of other players.
5. What does she do for a living? Is she good at it? Does she enjoy it, or would she rather be doing something else?
No job! Well, unless you count her class. She's a Blademaster class, meaning she uses one-handed swords. She's half decent at it, with a decent stat spread.
6. What are her interests or hobbies? How does she spend her free time?
She enjoys collecting Aromatic Grass, spending time with Elk and sometimes Kite, and harassing players.
7. What are her eating habits? Does she skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
In The World, she doesn't have to eat at all. In games, she enjoys more fragrant meals, since her sense of smell is something she's more used to.
